Retro Review #4 "8 Eyes"

Ok in this game you play a homeless little shrimp that dresses a bit queer and hangs out with a bird. You hit people with a tiny little stick and your bird basically just flies around not attacking anything. Also you can't leave the room without the fucking bird.
I give this game a rating of: Better than getting your eyes pecked out by a raven.

Retro Review #3 "The 3-D Battles of World Runner"

Ok, third times a charm. Here we have "The 3-D Battles of World Runner", from... Square? The same Square that gave us Final Fantasy? Oh man this is going to be awesome!
Wrong. Sucks. I have no manual for this game but even a traditionally epic Square story line could not save this pile of wasted silicon. I am guessing you play the part of World Runner as you take part in 3-D Battles. Well mostly you run forward on a auto scrolling checkerboard world towards what looks like giant stacks of ham with wings jumping over pits and avoiding smiling green balls. I actually played this piece of shit twice hoping against hope to find a redeeming quality in there and I came up with: you can jump for a very long distance and there is minimal flicker. Good job Square, stick to the RPG from now on.

Reto Review #2 "2-in-1 Tough Cop + Super Tough Cop"

Well fall off the horse get right back on right? Fuck, another light gun game. My only note on this one is, why? I mean if you have the option to choose to be a tough cop with a gun or a super tough cop with a fucking badass gun, who is going to pick tough cop? Kind of kneecapping your whole "2 for 1" value scheme aren't you?

Retro Review #1 "2-in-1 Cosmo Cop + Cyber Monster"

I have decided to try and review every Nintendo NES game released in the US. Here is #1...

Well this is going to be fun! There are so many great games on the NES, I hardly know where to begin. I have so many fond memories of playing video games in general but I hold a special place in my heart for the NES. This was the mighty system that birthed Zelda, Metroid, and Contra. Introduced the world to a couple of brothers named Mario and Luigi. Legendary stuff. So I decided to go alphabetical, only way to be fair an make sure I hit them all right? Well this is my punishment for such a method. There are two games here, neither of which I can play because I have no light gun. A shame really because I always wanted to grow up to be a Cosmo Cop or a Cyber Monster. This is the only screen I saw and I would say it left me underwhelmed.

How to import .eps files into Inkscape

Ok after much fruitless searching on this subject I have finally found the solution. After installing the package pstoedit I am now able to nativley import .eps into Inkscape. Now I don't have to open Scribus just to export a .eps as a .svg.

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!

Little bit of a late post but the holidays have been busy. I also decided to take the leap to Ubuntu 8.10 and ended up having to do a complete reinstall. SUCKED. But now I have a much sleeker looking desktop so I guess it was a necessary evil.

Live Election Results From Google.

Election Day

Well I woke up early this morning to go vote and there was a line around the building! I waited for almost an hour before I had to leave to go to work. Hopefully the lines will be smaller this evening.

A certain someone will not shut the fuck up at work today. She is so annoying, it is very hard to be patient with her. Mostly it's because she repeats the same statement 4 or 5 times because she has nothing else to say and is desperate for anyone to listen to her. Some days I feel sorry for her, other days I feel like I want to strangle her. She can say some of the most moronic shit. Today she keeps repeating "Well I really think Obama is going to win". Well that is some cracker jack prognosticating there C****. what on earth gives you that opinion? Last time I checked you thought he would be a terrible president because, and I quote, "His name is Barack Obama!" I honestly don't think she cares who wins and I doubt she voted, she just wants some one to argue with.
